PURPOSE / MISSION OF LAKEVIEW’S e3 YOUTH MINISTRY:

1: ENCOUNTER – Encountering Youth Encountering Jesus
All throughout the Gospels we see people encountering Jesus, and then going and finding people they know to meet Him too. That is our desire – youth & their families encountering Jesus and helping others encounter Him too.

2: ENGAGE – Engaging Youth By Engaging God’s Word
Being a follower of Jesus Christ is not the same as being a fan of Jesus. It is an active, ongoing relationship. So we want to engage youth & their families with God’s Word to help them understand Jesus more, His Word more, and continue to grow in the relationship with Him. Not just observe at church, but be engage.

3: EQUIP – Equipping Youth To Impact The World
Jesus sent His followers out to be on mission for Him, but not before He taught them and equipped them for the task. We want to help youth & their families be equipped to impact the world with the Gospel that impacted them.

We are not an island–it’s is Lakeview’s Youth Ministry. Without Lakeview Baptist Church, this ministry would not exist. So we are always seeking to come alongside the church’s mission as a whole. SO IN LIGHT OF THAT, WE ARE MAKING SOME ADJUSTMENTS WITH OUR WEEKLY SCHEDULE TO HELP ENHANCE THESE ELEMENTS IN OUR MINISTRY.

SUNDAY MORNINGS
We will continue to have our Sunday School from 9:30-10:30am in the Youth Center. Meeting in Table Groups and walking through the Bible together has had a big impact through the years. We are making some “tweaks” & small additions, but all in all this will still plow ahead with engaging God’s Word.

SUNDAY EVENINGS
Here is one of the big changes–we are moving Re:Generation Youth Choir to 4:45-5:45pm on Sunday nights. Our desire is that we can open up the afternoons and not ask the youth to camp out here all day. So this will open the door to have more youth involved in the Re:Generation Youth Choir. The choir will regularly be apart of the evening service. “Having the choir loft and the church full of teenagers on Sunday nights brings an added energy to the worship time.” (said Bro Al speaking to the youth) This time slot also brings all the ministries together with Joyful Noise Kids Choir, and adult L.I.F.E. also being at 4;45pm.
RE:GEN KICK-OFF THIS SUNDAY, SEPT 14 AT 4:45PM IN THE CHOIR ROOM! Hear from Bro. Jeff about where the choir is going and info about our upcoming mission trip to New York Summer 2015.

WEDNESDAY EVENINGS
We are moving our Equipping Groups to Wednesday nights from 6:00-7:00pm. We don’t want to lose the strategic element of small groups engaging to help youth with their relationship with Jesus. We will still all meet together on our annual events like IHOP, Chili Bowl Fellowship, Pickle Night, etc but the other nights will be committed to youth meeting in small groups. KICK-OFF FOR THESE EQUIPPING GROUPS WILL BE NEXT WEDNESDAY, SEPT 17 AT 6:00PM IN THE YOUTH CENTER. This will be somewhat of an “evaluative” process this fall, and see how the Wednesday changes go.

We are praying that as people’s lives & schedules get busier that we can enhance the times during the week we can invest in people. Instead of doing a lot of small things with lower numbers of people, we want to have larger impacts in small amounts of things we are doing during the week.
